Re: Southgate
i agree with the that he's been too conservative, and it's his job to omit the obvious fear in the team, and sort out the current shambles that is Kane and Sterling, but i still hold more hope than resignation.

Re: Southgate
Didn’t say I wanted him replaced NOW. He’s earned this tournament at least.

But he needs to be replaced before the World Cup because he ultimately isn’t good enough.

Re: Southgate
Ooohh look at crossed Hammers still bearing a grudge from a month or so ago, details of which I have forgot of course. Pathetic doesn't even come close. Fuck knows why these babies come on here.

The fact you want him replaced after 2 games into a tournament and 4 points sums you up.

Re: Southgate
The fact that Manuel is an advocate for Southgate tells you all you need to know.

He’s out of his depth and needs to be replaced before next year’s World Cup.

Re: Southgate
My concern about Southgate is that it doesn't come across that he tailors his tactics for particular opponents, and if he does he certainly at times gets them wrong. Had concerns at the World Cup Semi Final when he failed to deal with the threat from Modric, and against Scotland it was clear that he didn't need both Rice and Phillips in there as many have said and failed to change it. His taking off of Foden was baffling when he could easily have brought him inside to play as a number 10, or even changing shape and putting Calvert-Lewin next to Kane rather than replacing Kane with Rashford who rarely seems to play through the middle at United. Maybe it's just a case of a point is better than nothing so will see over the next couple of games.

Re: Southgate
I'm still not ready to hang Southgate out to dry yet, Croatia was an okay performance and the Scotland game was always going to be a different type of game at this level.

Southgate is no fool, regardless of what you think of him, and will be aware of all the criticism, etc. I think he will give it more of a go once we get into the last 16 game, he knows he will be crucified if we limp out of that with a lame defeat.

Can’t listen to Neville. Isn’t he the expert who thought was a good idea to have Kane taking corners at last euros?

Re: Southgate
Everyone, even the news channels are stating Kane has been 'lacklustre' IN A FUCKING MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP AS OUR CAPTAIN.

Last chance surely to at least show some enthusiasm and pride for England?

Then Southgate has to finally make a brave decision?

Re: Southgate
Souness is a know-nothing cunt.

Southgate is an overly conservative dullard who had a run to the World Cup Semi Final where we played a series of mediocre teams, beat Colombia who are not world beaters on pens and lost to Croatia who we could have beaten with different selection and approach.

Dig up Brian Clough - the best England manager we never had.

Southgate must of had enough and is trying to get sacked and take a pay off

Its my only logical conclusion to the state of the first 2 games

Re: Southgate
Souness doesn't seem to have a great understanding of the modern game for one the 'A list' pundits, too old and set in his ways. Time he was pensioned off or downgraded.

Neville didn't say that unless I don't understand English.
It was Souness that said haven't England got any creative players instead of.
Souness just talks rubbish he's still delirious that the jocks got a point last night.

Re: Southgate
Also, Souness hasn’t strung a sentence together in the last 24 hours that hasn’t included Billy Gilmour in it

Ron Eff 6:45 Sat Jun 19
Re: Southgate
Souness also compared Rice and Phillips to Portugal’s two equivalents on how they “try to pass forward” while clips of them just passing backwards were shown.

He said yesterday that Rice and McTominay are more suited to, and will eventually play centre half.

He’s as clueless as Southgate, who is suffocating Rice. Rice doesn’t need another defensive midfielder alongside him. He needs a box to box, who can sit in at times if he is given freedom to go occasionally. Arguably England’s most dangerous foray was late on when Rice strode forward and created the chaos in their box.

I would say being an English-accented football fan opens a huge number of doors to amongst other football fans in the parts of the world I have been. Other fans respect the knowledge and the passion especially if football is not the #1 sport where they are from.

Re: Southgate
Souness and Neville both currently claiming Rice offers nothing going forward

Imagine getting paid to talk utter rubbish

Rice isn’t offering nothing going forward cos he’s no good, it’s cos the useless manager is telling him not to
